Pick lists

The pick list is a crucial document in logistics and warehouse management that controls the process of picking and retrieving items. This list is generated to give pickers clear guidance on which products to pick from the warehouse in order to fulfill the outgoing orders. The pick list contains detailed information about the items to be removed, including item number, description, quantity, and storage location.

In the pick list, you can see the list of all goods issues whose responsible department corresponds to the transaction data filter.

Tip

Transaction Data Filter: You can see the transaction data of the department to which you are logged in and all those that are under this department in all departments.

Import Pick List from Route Planning

With this action, you create pick lists based on the planned shipments in the shipping MRP. You can find more information about the shipping schedule under Dispatch Scheduling - Overview.

Import Pick List from Tour Planning

  1. In the title action bar, click on the action Import Pick List from Route Planning.
  2. Select the shipping day for which you want to prepare the goods. For example, you can prepare the goods during the night shift of the previous day or x days before a public holiday.
  3. In the Split field, set the grouping and the number of pick lists:
  • Single Tour: Creates a single pick list for the specified tour with the defined destination location.
    • Per Loading Gate: Creates a separate pick list per Loading Gate.
    • Per Tour: Creates a separate pick list per tour.
    • Collective Pick List: A single Pick List will be created for all tours.
  1. Click the Import action. The system creates the pick lists, which you can then release separately or all at once.

Notes: The loading tour is stored on the tour/relation. If you want to exclude certain tours from the creation, activate the option Exclude from picklist creation in the master data of the tour.

Create a pick list from commission planning

With this action, you create pick lists based on the planned orders in commission planning. For more information on Commission Planning, see Commission Planning.

Creating a Pick List from Commission Planning

  1. In the title action bar, click on the action Create Pick List from Commission Planning.

  2. In the Order Selection field, select a predefined View from Commission Planning. You can use it to filter for orders with specific characteristics, such as all orders with only one line, or all orders that contain a specific item. In the notification area on the right, you'll see the:

    • Number of open pick lists in the system
    • the number of selected orders
    • as well as the preview of how many pick lists will be created.
  3. Set the target storage location. This is the storage location where the picked items are taken.

  4. Define the priority of the drive commands.

  5. Optionally, you can assign the pick list to specific warehouse employees. As a result, only this employee receives the driving commands of this pick list.

  6. Select the picking strategy.

  7. Optionally, specify whether the pick list should be released immediately.

  8. Click on the Create action to create the pick lists according to your settings.

Options

  • Share Immediately: This option immediately releases the created picklists, see also Share Picklist.

  • Maximum number of picklists: This allows you to determine the maximum number of active picklists that should be available in the system. In the example above, there are already 36 open pick lists. Now, if you limit the Maximum number of picklists to 40, the creation will create a maximum of 4 picklists.

  • Orders per pick list: Sets the maximum number of orders per pick list. If the field is left blank, all orders will be posted to a pick list. In the example above, there are 29 open orders. If you enter 10 in the Orders per picklist field, 3 picklists will be created. The first 2 pick lists with 10 orders each and the 3rd pick list with 9 orders.

Note

Which orders are assigned to the new pick lists and in what order, and which may be left, is determined by sorting the view in the commission planning.
