User editor
For every person who clicks on shippingNET, a user must be created in the system. Authentication is done via username and password, and user authorization is controlled by roles.
The editor is also used for contact persons at customers and suppliers.

General
On this map you can see the most important information at a glance.
- In the Credential pane, define the user name or the associated Windows user.
Note
If you want to use Windows Authentication, each Windows user must provide a shippingNET user.
In the General section, you can define personal data such as first and last name, personnel number, title & position, etc.
Under Contact Information enter telephone numbers and e-mail.
Tip
In the Enable e-mail notification field, set whether the user is allowed to receive e-mails in principle. If you don't want the user or contact person to receive emails for GDPR reasons, disable this option.
Additional information
In the Additional Information tab, you can specify the following settings:
- Personal information such as birthday and marital status
- Information about the employment relationship, such as entry and exit dates
- Bank details such as IBAN and BIC
- Cost accounting data such as planned operating time per day, cost center and cost per hour
Roles
A user can be assigned to multiple departments in different roles to different tenants.
Example: The same user can be assigned to the Warehouse AT department with the role Warehouse Manager and to the Dispatcher department with the role Dispatcher.
Note
What roles you can assign to yourself or another user in your organization. the administrator specifies the roles.
Add a role to the user:
- Select the department.
- Select the role.
- Click the Add.
- In the list below the input fields, you will now see the new authorization line.
- Optionally, you can specify in the Default Role field whether this assignment determines the Current Department and define a deputy when logging in.
Warning
Your changes will not be saved until you click the Save action in the action bar below the editor. If you leave the editor without saving, your changes will be lost!
Downtime
In the Downtime tab, store periods of time when the user is unavailable. This information is taken into account in the dispatch scheduling during resource planning.
Activities
In the Activities tab, you'll see the activity log for that user. The activity log records the following data for a shipment and a shipment:
-Start
- End time
- Activity: List of activities defined in the system configuration, -Transport -Mission
Note
The data for these activities is recorded by the users in the course of shipment delivery.
Billing
In the Allocation tab card, you enter the information for Cost Accounting and Customer Settlement. In accounts receivable, you define the type and timing of the activity allocation, as well as the document template, invoice text, payment term, and discounts.
Qualifications
For the efficient deployment of employees in your organization, you store qualifications. You can unlock the possible qualifications in the system configuration under Resource Qualifications.
Tip
This data is only required for resource planning in the dispatch schedul.
Status
You can manage status information that affects the user on the Status tab. You can see all the changes made to the user here. In addition, you can set info statuses.
